Treecreeper

Treecreeper blends what could be described as poetic, heartfelt country rock with gritty songwriting and a romanticised ‘bar room hope’ sound. Their debut album Grain (2007) released on Clubhouse Records, gained much critical praise, described as “a banjo and harmonica fuelled mix of moody balladry and ferocious rock” (Time Out).

Having been influenced by Americana, and feasting on a diet of US hardcore and indie in their youth, Treecreeper’s sound draws on a number of influences, comparing themselves with something reminiscent to Buffalo Tom and Dinosaur Jr. With a name – and sound – such as theirs, they’ll be right at home on the Caught By The River stage as a follow up to The Bird Effect on Saturday night. Indeed, band members Will and Greg Burns have been known to partake in a spot of birdwatching themselves, and have occasionally extended their respect for our feathered friends to their song titles, such as ‘Bird Artist’ which features on Grain.
