Justine Picardie

Bestselling author, Sunday Telegraph Magazine columnist and former features editor of British Vogue, Justine Picardie returns to Port Eliot this year to launch her new book Coco Chanel: the Life and Legend. With a special slide show in the Big Dining Room, Justine will be revealing for the first time to the public previously unseen photographs of Coco Chanel that she has uncovered during the writing of her book.

This is the first time that these photographs will ever have been seen in public – there will be no images available ahead of the show, so this is truly a world exclusive. Justine will be talking about her discoveries and how they influenced the writing of her book. We are also inviting fashion guru, Anna Sui; Metropolitan Museum of Art Curator, Andrew Bolton; Michael Howells, Stephen Jones and Sarah Mower to join her on stage to see them for the first time and comment on them.

Justine is the author of two novels and four non-fiction titles as well as the co-writer and editor of several other books. Author of 2002’s bestselling non-fiction memoir, If The Spirit Moves You, Justine Picardie’s first novel, Wish I May, was published in 2004 and her latest, Daphne, (2008, Bloomsbury) has been described as ‘glorious’ (The Times).
