The Tailors

The Tailors blend together elements of power-pop with edgy tones and weirded-out lyrics. Their recent second album, Come Dig Me Up (2009), released under their own label Trash Aesthetics, was proclaimed as containing “exquisitely crafted songs that can’t fail to impress even the most critical of listeners” (The Morning Star). – bringing together a sound comparable to the likes of Big Star and Teenage Fanclub.

Were it not for disaster striking in 2008 that involved their finished first album and a corrupt computer hard drive, then The Tailors may never have achieved the success they have so far experienced. Self-confessed to be stuck in a more alternative country sound at the time, the hard drive completely wiped the album from existence. Yet, rather than re-record the whole lot again, their ever-prolific lead singer Adam Killip scrapped the entire collection of songs and began from scratch. What was to follow was their well-received debut album Wakey Wakey (2007), a “collection of songs which can make even the coldest heart melt” (Rockbeatstone Magazine).

Currently in the process of recording a new EP set for release in July, The Tailors will be performing an exciting blend of old and new on the Caught by the River stage this year.

“An album that was made to get you through the cruel winter months… endearing, beautiful and unashamedly pretty.”
The Line of Best Fit

“Delightfully lazy. The Tailors make a well-weighted case for simplicity as the key to staying power.”
